Marie Brown, a Lake City artist, has painted professionally for 28 years in the sign industry and recently has brought this experience into the world of art. She paints in a variety of mediums, but prefers watercolor. Color is the essence of her work. She specializes in animals, particularly horses and dogs. Her paintings are light-hearted, playful and fun. Marie describes her paintings as feel-good art. ?When they make the viewer smile, I know I have succeeded!? she says. Marie is largely self-taught, although for the past 3 years she has attended classes and workshops, whenever time will permit.
She is member of the North Florida Art League, the Citrus Watercolor Club and the Florida Watercolor Society. Marie's award-winning watercolors are displayed in several galleries and are collected around the world.
Prints are reproduced on acid free paper with archival quality inks. Each print is signed. Sometimes she sells original artwork.
She also sells her work privately and accepts commissions, with clients often returning for new work. Marie can be contacted at bestinshow@bellsouth.net or 386-752-1248.
